I heave heard about the whole top ten programs and the importance to do something there.

On the other hand I am not in a position to be picky at this time.
I am interested in neurology starting july 06 and have seen some of the vacancies at sfmatch.org.
Does anyone know if any of these programs is considered good, fair or at least better than average.
Which of these is the best among the immediate vacancy list.

Here is the list:
Barrow Neurological Institute
U California-Irvine
LAC+USC MEDICAL CENTER
U. Vermont
Loma Linda University
University of Florida HSC - Jacksonville

Thanx.

All depends on personal preference, but BNI is probably the most well-known. Neurosurgery is big there.

Of the 2 I know, USC and UCI, I would probably choose UCI, given that USC's hospital is too big and too busy.

But you should apply to all vacancies. There are not that many.

I PM'd you more info, but for others who are interested...
I interviewed at UF Jacksonville and liked it alot. It is only a couple years old so that is obviously something to consider. But they aren't just taking transfers to the PGY-3,4 to fill up with just anyone and the faculty have all been there for many years already and have won numerous teaching awards from the med students and residents. The PD was super nice and the other residents were really friendly.
They also work with/ are a branch of UF Gainesville which has been around so I think that lends something.
Just my thoughts.
