Hello everyone. I start school in the fall and am trying to be prepared as possible. I have a quick question. I've read about people who make condensed notes or an outline of lecture. I was wondering if you make a separate document for every lecture, or keep a running document for the entire class? I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize my notes. Thanks!

I've seen multiple methods for this:

1. One page handwritten.
2. Typed notes, one per each lecture.
3. Make condensed notes as flashcards (my style).
4. Write one document for the entirety of lectures up to the test.
5. Study from powerpoints and just use word doc/flash cards for hard to remember facts.

There is no one way to do things correctly for everyone. There's just the way you do them.

I used OneNote. One "notebook" per class, then make a group for Unit 1, 2, etc., then within each group have a tab for each day, and then each lecture as a separate page in that tab. I would print the lecture slides onto that page and then annotate next to it.

What tablet did you use/recommend?

I have a 'lectures' file that is divided into histology, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, and our foundations in medicine class. Then under each division I have a folder for each block where I save all the lecture PDFs and then make a word document outline for all large topics. For instance in the histology, reproductive, folder I have a 'Female Reproductive" word file that contains my notes for around 6 lectures of female reproductive system material.

My study group wrote out the main points of each lecture on a whiteboard, took a picture and then printed those out.

Come exam week we would have only a handful of papers to lug around
