Hey, thanks for any responses I get, as I'm sure this has been asked countless times. I'm pretty much finished with my application on pharmcas except for the personal statement. My transcripts and recommendations are all there and accounted for. I think I'm only applying to Mercer and UNC chapel hill. UNC has a nov 1st deadline. Does it just need to be marked that it was SENT to pharmcas before nov 1st, or does pharmcas need to process it before then? Because if it's the latter, I'm screwed for UNC. I looked on unc's website for clarification, but they didn't say much in the way of how they work around pharmcas and its slow processing.
*Note: I took the pcat on the 23rd, so because that takes forever to process too (and UNC specifically says they take pcats no later than oct 23rd), they wouldn't get my scores to consider my application until a month from now ANYWAY. :scared: As you can see...I'm stressed. And long winded. Late.

I emailed them and here is their response:

The PharmCAS school deadline indicates the date your application and all materials must be received in the PharmCAS office. This is NOT necessarily the deadline by which your verified application must arrive at your designated schools.

After your application, official transcripts and fee are received, allow up to 5 weeks for PharmCAS to process your application. Whenever a deadline falls on a weekend or Federal holiday, the deadline is automatically extended to 11:59pm EASTERN time on the next business day.

PharmCAS will not process applications received after an institutional deadline. If you miss the application deadline for one or more, but not all, of your designated colleges, your application will enter processing, but materials will be sent only to those pharmacy institutions whose deadlines you have met. PharmCAS does not issue refunds for withdrawn applications or missed deadlines.

This is from the UNC admissions website:

"Please note that both Phase I and Phase II of your application must be submitted to the School of Pharmacy’s admissions office by November 1 for the following fall term. The deadline for fall 2007 enrollment is November 1, 2006. Thus, it is highly recommended that you complete and submit the PharmCAS application by September 12 to allow sufficient processing time".

I interpret that to mean that PharmCAS has to process and forward your application to them by the Nov. 1 deadline.

Go ahead and submit it. I think it means that it has to be recieved by PharmCAS by the school's deadline. I submitted like the third week in September last year and I got into UNC. I wasn't in the first group to interview though... because they do rolling admissions, you are better off the earlier they get it, but I think as long as PharmCAS has it by Nov. 1 it will be fine.

Knock that PS out and send it on in 👍

If they've changed things this year (and they may have), you could always call them to see. Or send the school an email. Either way it won't hurt to submit it now. PharmCAS should send it on to them if they get it before Nov. 1.

🙁 I was way to busy for PCAT, TOEFL and midterm exam that I didn't even submit anything to Pharmcas yet... It's my first time with Pharmcas. So i have sm questions to ask u guys
1. The deadline Nov 1 is for ALL THE SCHOOLS, or jus certain indicated schools?
2. If i didn't submit anything yet, Should i even bother submit now, for Western U ( which has deadline on Nov 1)
I appreciate ur response .... I'm so stressful rite now 🙁
