I sent in my secondary to Nova in late August. I haven't gotten an interview, or told I'm not getting one. I contacted the school and just asked if I was getting one. I did this a month in a half ago. I just said that I was curious, and that if I didn't get one that if they could tell me what I need to improve on for 2006.

They told me to be patient because they were still deciding. I tried to make it clear that I want to attend the school, but that if it doesn't work out for this year then I'm a big boy and can deal with it. But they're still deciding. Anyone know how long it can take until you're told you are or are not? Realistically, after this long doesn't it mean that it's "better lick next year?"

Relax, man. It's only November. Nova's deadline isn't even until February. I know they're on rolling admissions, but just because you haven't heard anything yet doesn't mean that you won't hear anything at all. I also know that a big majority of their interviews occur after the first of the year.

Well that makes me feel better. I forget what a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG process this is. It's such a waiting game. I waited less time for my daughter to be born from the time she was conceived until the actual birth! 🙂

Last year, I sent my application in August and didn't get called for an interview until April. Nova interviews and sends out decision letters until the class is full, rather than interview everyone, and then make all their decisions at the end. So, the process takes awhile because once people are accepted they have a week or two to reply back.

Most of my classmates, including me, received our acceptance letter 1-2 weeks after our interview.

I have mixed feelings about calling schools to check on application status. Some schools are more open to it, and it seems to help. But, I think for Nova, it doesn't really help much -- maybe a quick call after the first of the year to make sure your app is complete... But that's about all I'd recommend for Nova.

Some people say that if you want something you need to be persistent. You need to keep your name out there. I know that there have been many jobs that I've gotten because I called and "pestered". When it comes to pharmacy schools I guess it's a different beast altogether.

I have to say that the contact there, Tracy, is very nice. She's got a great sense of humor and has answered all my questions. But I decided to just leave things alone on that end or else she may get the impression that I'm an impatient nut. I am an impatient nut, but they don't need to know that until AFTER I've been accepted!
