Does anyone know the numbers for interview to accepted ratio at NOVA? It says on their website that the hardest part is actually getting an interview, but what are the chances?
Hey Check out Predents.com. The website gives a representation of the applicants for each school. From the applicants who registered with the website, Nova had 346 individuals apply and they interviewed 115 of them (around 1/3). Out of the 115 interviews, 56 applicants were accepted and 5 were wait-listed (about 1/2). They have stats similar to these for every dental school over the last 4 years. Hope this helps.
Thanks, I check it out. There was an earlier post on SDN that said the admissions office told them 3000 people applied, 300 were interviewed, and 90 % were accepted lol. These sound like very optimistic percentages to me, any comments?

I was told last year that they interview 300 students, and there are like 105 spots open. You know not everyone is going to accept at Nova so I would say that at least 50% of those interviewed will get an acceptance letter
I doubt schools give out more acceptance letters than there are seats. Many people may be wait listed but it doesn't make sense to offer more than you can seat when they could potentially all decide to go to Nova.

I don't think that is what btizzels meant - Nova, being a private school, is much more expensive than state schools and not as well known as some other dental schools. So applicants given the choice of Nova or UF, let's say, would likely choose UF for the reduced tuition. This way, they end up with a lot of declined acceptances, and will fill up those extra seats by sending out more acceptances.
They have well over 3000+ applicants each year and only a little over 100 seats. They do accept more than 100 applicants because many people do drop their acceptances once they are accepted to another school. Nova's tuition is pretty pricey plus you live in south florida which isn't exactly cheap either. well at least its party town with nice beaches and you are only 20 mins from miami.
