for those with nova interview invites (predents shows a lot now):
how soon after the status on AADSAS says "invited for interview" did you get a call/email from nova admissions for your scheduled date?

I got a letter in the mail approximately 3-5 days after "invited for interview" appeared on my AADSAS application.

and do you not respond to the interview invite till you get a packet in the mail?

When you recieve the letter it will have a phone number for you to call and confirm that you will be attending the interview.

Took August 30th DAT

exact same situation with me. done with secondary, but does not even say received on AADSAS

i got an interview also. is there a way to push up the date of the interview. I have finals during the date given to me. anyone know?

I submitted my application on june 1, finished secondary application on june 15. took DAT on july3, and DAT sent out on July 7. but they still did not get my DAT until I call them last week. And I fax my official DAT score to them. Now I get invitation. I guess my DAT delay them to send me an interview invitation.. that's suck.

for the most part, most dates are probably set in stone at this point (unless people cancel). i had an exam on the day they gave me, luckily they had 1 other day left open that i switched too, but it's still an inconvenient day for me. note, this was back in early august.

I got a call from the one of the admissions secretary's this past Friday telling me that my interview was October 2nd. Nothing was posted on AADSAS before then. Since I have my Buffalo interview on Oct 3rd I asked when the next available date was and she said February 12th, lol. Looks like they are pretty booked up already.

This is so far the happiest day in this semester I got invite for an interview at Nova....(I got an A in my first biochem test, that is the other part of this happy day lol)

So I have to wait and see when my interview is going to be!!!!

Yes i am from SD, I am a D1 at Nova, and so far I really like it. I am busier then i have ever been before, but it is totally doable. The school is nice, don't really know that much because i have only been here for a few months. Ft Lauderdale, is in my opinion very similar to SD, but more humid, and flat. Its nice, way better then going somewhere in the Northeast or something like that.

and she said the spots are mostly booked up until february or something like that but somehow luckily she had an opening on Oct. 8th, so mines on 8th.

i assume you're asking me?
my sci gpa = 3.77 non-sci gp= 3.96

you might want to try to call and see if you can get an earlier date. i mean it's not gonna hurt you so why not🙂

dude thats not correct, they schedule interviews based on when you submitted and when everything was received, if a cancellation occurs they can slip another person in there that would have been sent say a Feb invite. It is not based on stats, I have a high gpa and my date is in feb. I have been informed that even if there are cancellations one cannot move up their interview date bc those spots will be filled by other invites.

Homeslice, you went to SDSU, your gpa is obviously inflated. You were probably the only one in the school that wasn't drunk the days of the tests and therefore you got the only A in the class. Clearly pure inflation of your gpa 🙂 UCSD all the way!!!!!!

Ok anyway serious talk now... call after December 1st people will drop thier interviews when they get in somewhere else. You should be able to find a spot before Feb.

Yeah you're right, its only the top small research school in the nation cause everybody is hammered all the time 👍.......but seriously you think i can call after december 1 and grab a cancellation spot? at that point would it just be worth it to keep my early Feb interview, i mean you got in with a Feb interview right?

First off we both know SDSU does not compare to UCSD (we are super nerds)

Secondly, I received an interview originally scheduled for Feb 28th, but i called after December 1 and was able to change it to December 19th, and was accepted on Jan 11th. So if it is anything like last year then you should have spaces open up in December/January.

how much time do you have to make a decision on whether or not you will be attending after you receive an offer of acceptance?

If you find out on December 1st you have 45 days, and if you hear after January 15th you have 30 days, and it gets less and less. Something like that

i think it varies with each hotel. I know comfort suites is $129 a night and hampton is $99 a night with the nova discount. lago mar has to be pretty expensive.

I'm planning on rolling deep. We'll be sleeping on the couch, bed, floor. Haa. It'll be fun. Hope the hotel doesn't catch us though. Fingers Crossed!

I got the later 7 days after it was dated, i think mainly becuase i live in Canada. I am so pumped for this interview!!!!

Just got back from Nova. It was fun.

I stayed in the Comfort Suites. Cost about $99. Rooms were awesome. Service was awesome. They also provide shuttles to and from airport and as well as to and from Nova. They also let me keep my luggage there after I checked out and still picked me up from Nova and still took me to the airport later in the afternoon. I highly recommend this place.
