Just some questions for those of you who interviewed there already

How did you get from the airport to the school? (rental/taxi/bus?)
How long did it take from the time you landed to get there?
How long was the interview/tour?

I have an interview coming up around noon time and there are flights that get there at 11:10ish. I believe the school is only 15 minutes away but I'm worried it won't be enough time.

Also was it worth staying the night?

I would take an earlier flight. You have to remember the time required for baggage claim, getting into your transportation and finding where the building is. Also, if you take I-95...well they're on a 12 year reconstruction plan, so it might get hectic!

I would definitely stay overnight, that way you don't run the risk of being late to your interview... I travelled in the afternoon the day before my interview and my flight was delayed by 3 hours and my connecting flight was delayed too, so instead of reaching Ft. Lauderdale at 9 p.m. like we were supposed to, we arrived at 5 a.m. Although this is extreme, it could happen and let me tell you it wasn't fun... So get there as early as you can, familiarize yourself with the area that way you don't have to rush, because then you will be more stressed and nervous.

I agree. You shouldn't risk it. Although the school is pretty close to the airport it's too big of a chance to take. Plus, dont you want to be able to explore the city a little so you know if you really want to go to this school or not. I stayed at hampton inn while I was there and it was really nice. plus they have a shuttle to the airport and to the school.

btw the whole interview lasted about 4 hours. the interview itself was about 20 minutes but then u have lunch with the dean and depending on how many questions you ask or the people with you ask it could be awhile. then
the tour is a good 30 minutes i think. then there is the financial aid workshop but if you let fran know you have a flight to catch they do let you go early and they won't be offended or anything.

awesome advice guys!

looks like I'm going to be flying in the night before and staying in a nearby hotel.

I'm coming from boston and Jet Blue has direct flights. The price is about the same as elsewhere too

Yea. Get the the night before because you want to be well rested before your interview. If you come in right beforehand, you might seem tired during your interview. Good Luck man.

Tip: Come up with many questions beforehand, because you'll come across a bunch of people and you don't want to be asking them the same questions over and over.
