Hey everyone, so I got invited to interview at Nova for the PsyD program in two weeks. This will be my first interview ever so I really don't know what to expect. Any advice as to what to wear, what to ask, what not to ask, what to take with me or anything really would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, its a job interview. Dress accordingly.

Are the programs outcome consistent with your desired career path? Match rate? Are they preparing psycholgists to function within the changing American healthcare system?

As with any interview, make sure you share what drew you to that particular program and school. Saying something generic won't help you there -- why would you want to attend Nova? Is there a faculty member or program you really want to work with? Is there something about that particular program that sets it apart in your mind for you?

Ask questions, too, of your interviewer -- it's the one time you're going to get some honest opinions (from the student interviewers anyway) about things, rather than from a marketing website. When I was an interviewer and interviewees asked me my opinion about the program, facilities, faculty, etc., I told them the truth...

Explain why you are the best fit for them and they are the best fit for you.
One of the most impressive answers I heard during an interview cited previous dissertations from graduated students of that program.

Don't say you applied there because it's the closest school to your home.

I have the same interview! Dress professionally, I bought a grey suit, keep it modest. Research the faculty, alumni, research projects, anything you can to be knowledgeable so they can see you want to be there. I've been doing my research endlessly!

Thanks for all the replies!!!! Tandes I guess I'll see you there!!!
