does nova give preference to florida residents? according to the 2005 stats, there were 163 in-state and 36 out of state... but it is a private institution. i thought Western University gave preference to california residents but their website says differently... wondering if this is the case for Nova also?

since they are private, it shouldn't be weighed like that. But you know, i would assume more in-state residents applied than out-of-state. So maybe it's not that they prefer in state residents, but that there was a 5:1 ratio of applicants from in state to out of state, and the admissions reflected that.

thanks for the tidbit. i've been looking around at a lot of schools and this seems to be the case with the private ones. the numbers just look skewed because of the applicant pool
