Just filling out my Nova secondary app. and came across the question "How many schools are you applying to or have applied to in the past?" Well I've never applied to any in the past but i am applying to 19 this cycle and was kind of hestitant about listing all of them. Does it look bad to apply to that many schools??? Should I list all of them?

I listed all my designated schools and got an invite in 2 days. So I guess it didn't look bad for me.

I applied last year, but I never took the DAT. For whatever reason, I got a print out just like the schools get from AADSAS.

It states, CLEARLY, what other schools you have applied to. So, you need to tell the truth.

I think Nova and other universities have access to your online application. So, you'll be better off telling the truth.

INTERVIEWS: UCLA, UCSF, UPENN, Columbia, UCONN (University of Connecticut), University of Maryland, Boston University, University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, Indiana University, Case Western Reserve University, UMKC, UMDNJ, Nova, I don't recall the rest [I won't go to all interviews]

if you apply to more than 10 schools, you should reevaluate what you want out of dental school, because it is a waste of money and time....do some research on what you want...people waste so much money...spending more doesnt change your chances or happiness...some people here are ridiculous

I'm applying to 12 schools. I wasn't sure exactly how the process would go and how well I would perform on the interview, so just to be safe to apply more, thinking I'll go to whichever school that accept me. Now it turns out some schools that I had thought I had a great chance haven't contacted me for interviews yet (i.e. BU & NYU), but I've already interviewed at schools I wouldn't dreamed of 😉 And accidents happen too. Columbia sent out my interivew invite on Sep 19, and I got it yesterday, Oct.24. 😱

So, I think the whole thing is somewhat unpredictable. I agree that it's wasting $$$ and time, and I also know that there're schools I won't go even if I got accepted beacause I don't like their locations. But it's not necessarily ridiculous to apply to lots of schools. Maybe it's a little ridiculous to attend all the interviews 😛 Said that only because the interviews are killing my grades :scared:

BTW, I listed all the schools on the NOVA 2ndaries, big-name schools on there too. I was interviewed last month, didn't get a question about this. No worries 😀
