I just received an invite for an interview at NOVA. If anyone out the could give me some insight on what to expect during the interview would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I was invited in the beginning of August and it was my first interview invite. But, mine isn't until December. But that's okay, better than nothing. 🙂

Don't lose hope, many people hold on to their spot at Nova until they hear back from the state schools, so spots open up later in the game as well. Good luck.

I want to sayaround 4:00 pm.. I believe thats what they told me, so I tried to get a flight after 6:00.

The interview starts around 2pm after the tour around the school.

They will interview 2 at a time in two different rooms. Depending on how early you go, you can end early as 2:30pm.

Ft. Lauderdale has traffic, keep that in mind. You will be amazed how such a little city can give you a headache with traffic when you have to return your rental car and check in at the air port.

I checked my AADSAS status page, and it shows that I am invited for interview at NOVA. But I havent got any mail specifying the time and date. I called the school but nobody is answering..How do I know when it is going to be??

They sent sent me a packet with the interview invitation.

The school sends you a formal invitation in the mail with the date and time (11:45am) specified, then you call them to confirm the date.

I recieved my invite in the mail in Mid august, scheduled for early Oct.
I called to confirm and made the scheduled flight/hotel arrangements.
Long story short, I showed up 30 minutes early to see lots of people already there getting briefed about the tour and getting called back for interviews. They turned out to be pre-med students... whew
I asked at the desk where the dental sign-in sheet was and she replied that there were no dental interviews that day.... yea, that was just about my worst nightmare. she said she'd try to put something together real quick since I was already there-- it must have been a mistake.

I found out later in my 1 on 1 interview (by the admissions person) that they had so many interviews that in addition the the groups of people on Wed and Thurs, they threw in a few other random dates for people just so they could fit more people in. I then got a private tour of the school by 2 D4s and ate with them at the cafeteria.

ended up being pretty cool. BTW, the interview is REALLY- no big deal its just a pleasant conversation about your grades/DAT/dentistry/Nova etc (im just throwing that in because it was my first interview)

yeah i got the latest possible date for an interview on feb. 20 it pisses me off b/c it almost seems like ill be a waitlist/reject candidate for sure

I just got an interview invitation from Nova...I saw it on AADSAS. Seeing that everyone else's interviews are not until Feb. makes me really worried though because I'm starting to think that I applied wayyy too late (AADSAS submitted Aug 16, DAT taken Sept 29)

I received a letter in the mail with a date and time set, and all I had to do was call in to confirm that I was coming.

I would call. If the update says you are invited, the chances are good that you will be sent a letter. Calling them will go you a bit more advance notice of the date, rather than waiting for the letter which may or may not be on its way

For Nova's "interviews", you barely have to be conscious. They talk to eachother more than they talk to you. For me, it made me feel like they are disinterested in what I have to offer. I barely had a chance to talk among thier babbling about the weekend football update. They did not even ask me why I wanted to be a dentist.....they only asked me two questions:

One bull**** question about what famous person I would want to ride in a car with, and the second question was if I went out and partied last night. 😕

They just updated my status on AADSAS page. I will let you know when the snail mail package arrives.
