Hey guys, I just got my acceptance the other day (12/9) and am very excited! I am from the Midwest so I thought I would create this thread to figure out some things about the area. I have yet to tour the campus but will hopefully fly down this winter. If anyone has any info on housing (on or off) please let me know!

Good luck and congratulations to anyone who has gotten in already!

I am still waiting to hear back from NOVA, how long ago did you apply?

I sent in PTCAS on 10/5 and the supplemental app and fee on 10/24. I received my acceptance via email on 12/9.

Acceptance on Nov. 22nd! I'm interested to see who all joins this thread as potential classmates! I will be attending the open house in January to check out the campus and facilities to get a better idea if I need to make any decisions.

Accepted but will not be attending. Good luck to everyone!

Do you happen to know the date(s) of the open house? I am looking to fly down there next month as well!

Hey I am a current student at Nova class of 2019, if you have any questions about the program or area, let me know!

Let me know if you have questions about the program, I am a current first year student.

I definitely will! I'll be at the open house later this month, so any questions I have after that from a student's perspective, I'll be sure to ask you. While I have one on my mind, do you know how the on-campus living is compared to off-campus (cost, quality, location, etc.)?

I definitely will! I also have questions regarding on campus versus off campus housing-- what would you recommend? Personally, I would really like to live off campus but if it's more of a hassle than worth it maybe I'd reconsider.

Also, how do you like the school/program thus far?

Congrats! Is this a top choice for you?

Thank you! It is! I'm still waiting to hear from schools but there is only maybe 1 or 2 that would sway my decision now.

Any information anyone has on the campus, facilities, living situations, and how they like their cohort (current students) would be much appreciated!

I am currently living in Rolling Hills, which are the graduate apartments. It is a little pricey, but honestly it isworth it if you prefer to live on your own, which I do. As of now the program is awesome! It is alot, but you catch on super quick, so so far so good. I love the school itself, and the staff overall is pretty awesome. Any other specific questions, let me know!

Awesome, thanks for the information! I am looking into renting off campus, do you have any suggestions? I'm open to looking for roommates, I've lived in apartments on campus before and found them to be uncomfortable and really enjoy having my own furniture (primarily my bed).

As we create your facebook page for your class, which will be in the near future, you will find it pretty easy to start matching up with your classmates for rooming. That is what most people did in my class. I would start looking at Palm Trace Landing and Toscana, those are the main apartment complexes for my class. Also if you ever consider Rolling Hills, you are able to move your own bed into there as well.

Thanks for the info! I've actually been looking into these. Do you feel the pricing is worth the quality of the home furnishings and the amenities/convenience you get (In comparison to the pricing of off-campus housing)? Also, Have you had any difficulties with using the shuttle to get to campus in the AM ? As in does it get packed with people using all around the same time?

The convenience factor itself is worth the price. You have no deposit, your bills are already paid so you never have that to budget or stress about, which is nice, as well as no cost in setting up cable, internet, etc. To be honest I have never used the shuttle, I always drive over to the parking lot we are allowed to park in, which is right across the street from or building. I do not think there are any problems with the shuttle at all, I just prefer to drive over rather than wait on it to get there in the mornings, and when I am ready to leave in the evenings

For those accepted at the Fort Lauderdale campus, I have created a group on Facebook: "Nova Southeastern University DPT Class of 2020"
