I'm filling out the NSU secondary, and they ask what osteopathic and allopathic schools you're applying to and applied in the past. I thought schools weren't allowed to ask this question. Do I really have to put down every school I applied to?

they can...and as far as i know, so does Western COMP...

I had that same question when I was filling out the Nova secondary and I asked my premed advisor... she said that they are not suppose to do that and that you have every right to answer "N/A" but the school may not like that answer and so its up to you... I did fill out past schools i have applied to on that section... I have an interview there on October 5th....

its not supposed to be a big deal..when i applied i put down a total of like 20 schools which half were allopathic..all they did was asked if i got accepted/interviewed at any of them..and they moved on..its not a big deal. And im now attending NSU

DrMikeyLu....got a question for you....
Half the schools im applying to are MD......i was just wonderin...if they ask me why have i applied to both MD and DO....how should i answer that question??

I would definately just answer truthfully...im assuming the majority of their applicants apply to both MD and DO..so admitting to do so should not have an impact..

i mean..would it look bad if i said that i really want to get into a DO school bec i truly feel more in sync with the osteopathic medicine philosophy... but i would really like to stay in the south east US...close to family.. so thats why I applied to some MD schools (mainly all in the south east..)..just to keep my options open...

i guess the best thing to do is just to tell the truth. like when i was at western, one of the questions was 'why did you apply here' (im from ny) and i basically just told them the truth, which is that i'm THINKING about going out there, but i may very well stay in ny. they can't hold it against you, you know?
