Accepted into NYIT MOT 2013 program and am currently torn. I have an interview with NOVA coming up, and am still waiting from Shenandoah and Alabama State U.

I was accepted into NYIT under the condition that I finish the PreReq's of CHEM 2 and Physics 2 before the Fall term which means I would have to take them after the Summer Session I at NYIT. Those 2 courses alone cost around 4k total. Would like some insight if I do get into NOVA on the opinions of both schools. Shenandoah is my #1 right now as it is closer to home so my fingers are still crossed, but I know that its not good that I have yet to hear from them.

Need to decide if I should throw down the 500$ deposit for NYIT or just wait to hear from other schools or even take a year off. Thanks in advance for the input.

Hey OTIndustrial,

I just got accepted into NYIT MOT program as well and am waitlisted for NOVA. I am still waiting on a few other schools as well.

I was deliberating the same questions but in my case I have already completed those science courses due to my major being in health science. Do you have to take them at NYIT? Did they explicitly say that you had to take those two courses this summer along with the first semester of courses for the MOT program? Can you afford the 4k plus tuition and board? Can you afford to take the year off? Is starting OT school this year a priority right now? I do not know your personal situation, so take into account, money and time. If you can wait, wait until you are more comfortable, but remember that the admissions will only get more competitive with each passing year due to media hyping the field.

As for opinions on NOVA and NYIT MOT programs, unfortunately I don't have one. I am from IL and I have been searching for opinions about these two schools for awhile. I know one friend who is visiting NOVA right now and she will update me on the campus and program when she gets back next week. I can update you on what she says and fwd pictures of campus if you would want them.

The interview for NOVA has pretty basic questions and its about 45 minutes long. Are you doing a phone interview or traveling to the campus?
