I can't speak for Nova's program, but I'm happy at Shenandoah. Sure, the city is 70 miles west of DC, away from clubs and Starbucks (though we are getting one, and our local chain Daily Grind is pretty good actually
😉) and abundance of shopping, but it's all about priorities. The environment here is perfect for studying, and really, if you need to get away, there are many things to do within a 1.5 hour drive (DC, shopping in Northern VA, Skyline Drive, hiking, white water rafting, tons of museums and history and civil war battlefields).
I moved here from FL, and I embraced returning to a place that had 4 seasons. Summer Major and Summer Minor get old after a while.
😉
While the cost of living is increasing in Winchester due to people in Northern Virginia and DC moving out here, it's nothing like the cost of living in the Ft. Lauderdale/West Palm Beach area. That's something to consider.
If you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
Oh, and MayaRx...

go to NOVA the sun is always shining
I beg to differ. In rains almost every day in FL in the summer time, whether it's for an hour or for half the day.

if your worried about hurricanes, no biggie just evacuate you will be fine.
Riiight. It's not as easy as you're making it out to be. I lived an hour and a half from Orlando, and during Hurricane Charley, people from Tampa evacuated to Orlando because the hurricane was projected to hit Tampa/St. Pete dead on. A few hours before this projected landfall, it turned inland and hit Port Charlotte, crossing the state over Polk County and then Orlando -- the very place to which people evacuated. Not only were people scrambling to leave Orlando when they heard the hurricane was approaching their safe haven, but the normally 1.5 hour drive from Orlando to Tampa now turned into an EIGHT hour drive. It's
not as easy as simply "evacuating."
