I am very grateful for being accepted by these 3 schools . I am an NJ resident. As of now I am leaning towards Nova, because living expenses are the cheapest, and being in South Florida isn't so bad. Can anyone give me their recommendations?

Think you just answered your own question. Without a doubt, keep the expenses as low as possible while in school. NYU will run you close to $450,000+ for all four years and Tufts is similar.

Thanks for the input lazyindy, yeah it would be cheaper most likely i am worried about being farther than away from home and i also have a feeling its easier to specialize in a class of 125 vs a class of 300+ or 225+

if anyone else can chime in that would be great

Realistically, you wouldn't be visiting home much while going to any of the schools. Flights to Ft Lauderdale are very affordable so you can visit home during breaks with the money you save going there instead of NYU or Tufts. Nova is a very nice school and it will be easier yo obtain letters of rec when you apply to residency because of the smaller classes.

I can only speak for NYU because that is where I decided to go. Where do you live in Jersey? You can visit kind of often if the train station is close to your home, but the rigor of dental school might not give you a lot of time. You can also cut down your living expenses by a lot. NYU overestimates the cost of living by a lot imo. For example I am planning to live with a roommate in a 3BR and cooking all of my food, but that depends on how much you are willing to give up eating out etc. because that is super expensive in NYC. You should be able to cut down costs to around $400,000-$410,000 if you budget properly which is similar to most private schools. Still Nova is cheaper. Regardless of where you go it will be very difficult to specialize, but a smaller school might help. Student to faculty ratio should be similar at all schools but I don't know for sure. I personally think that because neither are ivy league schools, the chance of specialization is basically the same. It all depends on you. If living closer to home is really valuable to you, I would say go to NYU. If not, then save some money and go to the warmer Nova.
