Has anyone heard from Nova after getting the "waitlist" status on aadsas? I was hoping to get something in the mail about a high waitlist or low waitlist (that I saw from previous years...) but I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. Has anyone heard anything?

I was wait-listed too :/. And I haven't heard anything yet.

I just got a letter in the mail from them today. I'm high hold, whatever that means.

!!!!!! I hope I have the same letter! What state do you live in? Apparently that is a good thing 🙂

I'm from IL. I also got a high-hold waitlist.. it seems like everyone is high-hold, I never see anyone with low-hold...

I am wondering what our chances are

I got the letter too. From past threads it appears like there are 60 people on the "high hold" waitlist and 200 on the waitlist total. And you're right, I don't think there is a "low hold"...just a regular wait list and selected people that are high hold. I wonder how far they go into their high hold. I'd rather hear sooner rather than later before I have to pay to reserve my spot at a different program.

I am a first year at Nova and can tell you the waitlist will move alot. Unfortunately, there is no time table as to when they can and will accept you and it may be hard to communicate with Nova as they are dealing with thousands of applications and interviews etc. In my class right now people got accepted as late as 3 days before classes started so try and be patient because it is a very lengthy process.

At least one person last cycle reported having recieved a "low hold" status on sdn. In years past this low hold waitlist was called the alternate list, and the high hold waitlist was called the "accepted but we just have to see how many seats open up" list.

Essentially you were on a list of students who were "accepted" but are ranked. Yeah, I guess that created a lot of confusion so they just call it a high hold now.

Anyways, hopefully we'll all hear good news soon.

I wonder if our Nova portal will change closer to Jan. Meaning: It will have "acceptance fee" and that way we will know that we are about to get accepted. Did everyone get accepted that had that acceptance fee in webstar? ugh...really trying to avoid handing over money to another program only to get accepted to Nova 5 days later. But I guess that's just the nature of the beast..dental school is expensive...already 🙁

IF YOU'RE ON THE WAIT LIST AT NOVA MY ONLY SUGGESTION IS TO CALL THEM!!! Speak to Dr. Lippman and make sure he knows your name. Spots should be opening up as people are turning down their offer and placing their deposits to other schools. I think they will accept their second round of acceptances in early January-ish.

My friend was on high hold last year and didn't get in. She called a lot to express interest. Not to scare anyone, but I think their wait list is tough to get off of. Just an opinion though.

Was she OOS? May be she annoyed the heck out of admission committee...lol
