I applied to Nova, but I don't think I want to go there anymore. This hurricane has freaked me out a little. I'm kind of afraid to go where there could be another one like this one.

Any place you live has its potentials for disasters. It's just a fact of life. We can't all go around being afraid that something bad is going to happen. If you lived your life like that, you wouldn't really be living at all.
I wouldn't discount living in a certain place unless the potential for disasters was exponentially higher than average.
Memphis (for example) is around the new Madrid fault line. When a major earthquake hits here, it's going to be a disaster. When will that happen? Of course no one knows. Do I worry about it? Occasionally. Did I let it keep me from attending school where I wanted to? Absolutely not.

amen ! the south and southeast have hurricanes. the midwest has tornadoes. the northeast has blizzards. the west coast has earthquakes, (which scare me a HELL of a lot more than hurricanes.. as least the hurricane i can see coming and get the hell out of dodge!) mudslides and forest fires.

In Pennsylvania we don't get much of anything bad except snow sometimes, but it melts in a week or so. I like it here.

I go to Nova and we got a 4 day weekend during Katrina and school wasn't even closed when Rita came through. The area really didn't have much damage from either storm. Hurricanes just become a part of life down here and really I wouldn't be that concerned.

I just had an interview with Nova but havent heard back from them and was wondering if anyone has heard back from them after the interview.. is it an easy school to get accepted in or not...
