anyone going to NOVA in March for an interview?

If anyone has any tips for hotels/places to visit/what you thought of the school... comments would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going the same day as you are =). It's the week of Spring Break for me. What's funny though, is that I'm in the exact same boat as you are....in terms of being under review, waiting for grades, etc... haha.

Hey Chrissystar,

Congrats on the interview! I am hoping that after I get my OAT scores in (taking it in 2 weeks) that I can get an interview as well. Even if my OAT scores are good enough it doesn't look like I will get an interview until April!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that a lot of people just sent in their deposit to hold their seat and then will drop out later to go to other schools...NOVA is one of my top choices 🙁

Take really good notes at the interview and please post your experience there! Thanks to everyone for your encouraging words...some of us are in the home stretch 🙂

the earliest is march 6th.. but i cant make it..

fran only gave me days avail for mar/apr
i guess feb is all filled up

i want to go on a monday so that i can spend a few days there.. and going on any other day will cause me to miss too much school


im trying to see if anything is free teh week of march19th? anyone giving up their interview that week? hehe 😀

I got the invite, very end of January. But, I have lab class I can't miss, so I can't go till end of the quarter. Which time did u choose?

I am trying to book a flight and would like to know how much tiem I need

how far is the airport from the school?

any recommendations on hotels?

I interviewed just this past Monday and my interview time was set for 230 and I didn't leave until around 745. It's a long interview with a lot of information provided, so, take notes! I stayed in the Renaissance Plantation hotel. When they send you the interview packet, they will give you a list of hotels close by that offer a discounted rate if you are going to be visiting the school. Because my interview was at 230, lunch wasn't provided; however, they have cookies and drinks they provide. You are so busy the whole time you don't even think about being hungry. I was just about to say, the sooner the interview, better your chance of getting accepted. Where are you flying in from? If you're concerned about catching a flight back, let Fran know and she'll make sure to schedule for the first interview spot.

When I interviewed there, the day started at 12:30 with financial info, then we met with the assistant dean and interviews/tour started at 2:30. The interview is fairly short (20-30 minutes) and I was out of there my 4:30 to catch my flight back to Seattle at 6. Hope that helps.

Oh, the airport is only about 20 minutes from the school, even on a Friday in the late afternoon. I stayed at the Comfort Suites in Davie, only cause they provide shuttle service to and from airport,the hotel and Nova. The room was expensive but I figured I had saved $20 or so everytime I needed to go somewhere by not getting a cab ride.

awww...we would've had the same time/group too! Oh well...earlier is better; if i could I would. From the letter, mine starts at 2:30, and they said it could last till 8pm!

Ook so i booked my flight.. for the 22nd of Feb.

Have to confirm with Fran tomorrow.

🙁 I wont be receiving a package on time from NOVA.

^^^^not really. I didn't recieve my pre-interview package on time either. It just mentions Nova's dress code policy, and you have to sign some paper but you could do that later when you get back.

^^^^Believe me, I felt exactly the same way...confused and not knowing what to expect. I just called the school and told them that I didn't recieve the pre-interview package and asked them if there was anything important that I need to know before the interview. They told me to check in with the front desk at the Terry Building which is the main entrance, I believe.

Also, if you check Nova's website they have a list of hotels and their contact info. that are around the area. PM me if you have any more questions.
