Now -- Too late to submit secondaries?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Thoughts on this perennial question?

Depends on the strength of your application, but for most it's getting there. The trick isn't getting the interview, it's getting one early enough to matter.

I am in the same boat. I have pretty good stats (3.9 GPA, 37 MCAT) but I am queasy every time I think of how late my secondaries are. I'm planning to finish them by the end of the week but I'm very very nervous.

I do have one interview (Vandy) because they screened for secondaries and thus I wasn't at a huge disadvantage.

eeeekkkk going on SDN makes me nervous.

Agree. If you're application is awesome across the board, they're going to find a way to get you as long as you submit before the deadline. But if you're human like everyone else, even if they love you they're going to be running out of spots before they know you exist. Is it too late today? I don't think so, but I wouldn't want to be submitting things in October, when a non-trivial amount of spots have already been interviewed for.

You'll probably be ok, assuming that all other factors work out in your favor. You might not have the choice(s) you would have had if you were complete in July, but unless you've got some hidden detractor(s), you'll probably get some good ones yet.
