For those who have passed or are studying for the NPTE...

I'm having trouble with the O'Sullivan practice tests. Scoring in the mid 60's...

Meanwhile, I'm scoring low 80's in the Scorebuilders.

I have not taken PEAT and plan on doing so this weekend.

What are your thoughts on the differences, and how do they compare to the actual NPTE. I've heard varying things, and seeing a score in the 60's is frightening.

I took the NPTE July 2013 and passed. I also used O'Sullivan, Scorebuilders, and the PEAT. I found that I generally scored 10-20 points higher on Scorebuilder than O'Sullivan, and generally about the same to 1-5 points higher on the PEAT as compared with the Scorebuilders. I took a prep class and they said that the numbers you are reporting are good and translate more or less to a passing grade on the exam. I had similar scores on my prep tests and passed my exam with an 86%.

The PEAT is the most like the real thing, because it is provided by the FSBPT, which creates the board examination. It even looks the same (as far as what the computer screen looks like for the real thing). O'Sullivan tests are generally thought of as harder than the real thing (so aiming for 70% is thought of as comparable to 80% on the real thing) and Score builders is generally thought of as easier than the real thing (so aiming for 90% is comparable to 80% on the exam).

Has anyone subscribed for the PT final exam or TEP ??
