I'm currently applying to the NROTC 4-yr scholarship and considering applying for medical school in college. Does anyone know if the Navy grants educational delays for medical school, without incurring more active duty obligation, or is the HPSP/USUHS the only option? I know the Army has the Medical Delay Program where active duty is just deferred, without any benefits but without additional obligation too; taking both an NROTC and HPSP scholarship would make the active duty obligation 8 yrs; with USUHS, even longer. Anyone know what the deal with that is? Thanks.
