Who's coming and where are you staying? I am staying at Amerisuites, they have shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to NSU...pretty sweeet if you ask me. 😀 See you guys/ gals there!

hello- gluck on your interview day! my advise is....just be yourself. i was interviewed by three physicians (2 D.O's and an M.D) and they were a stoic bunch. i could feel the tense-ness when i walked into the conference room for the interview. towards the end of the interview, i had a feeling i was going to get an offer because one of them broke out to say that i'm an "outstanding candidate". sure enough, i was offered a seat for the Class of 2010 3 weeks later but chose to take a year off.

I had 1 DO 1 MD and another person interviewing me at once. It wasn't too bad...the school is absolutely beautiful and the facilities are fantastic. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens.

I also had the interview on 10/17!. If you're the jersey guy then I think we talked for a while, I was the Indiana guy. Just wanted to say I also loved the school and the weather in florida was great!. I got a KCUMB acceptance today but I'm definately going to wait to here from NSUCOM before I decide! just 2 weeks!.

How much did you pay for Amerisuites? So far, all the hotels I have stayed at offered me a discount for ~$60. The shuttle service sounds really nice since I won't know where the heck is any place and I hear the taxis rip you off.

yeh the taxis in south fla are insanely expensive.. its better to rent a car if u wanna go around town.... however...if its gonna be a short trip--airport to hotel to nsu... then u wont even need the rental car... bec amerisuites provides a shuttle from the airport and to nsu... I THINK amerisuites is around 75 or so... i think someone else posted the price for it on another thread.... anyways, good luck doctor saab! when is ur interview?

$79. Well worth it if you ask me.

i stayed at the mariott-courtyard down there and it was a mistake. Very nice hotel and only 89 bucks but there is no shuttle so it was 35 for the cab from the airport to the hotel, 10 for cab from hotel to NSU and 45 back to the airport. Definately stay where there is a shuttle, i think the hampton inn has one also.

let me know how things work out thou and what school you end up at. how was the IU interview btw?


also for DoctorSaab, Amerisuites was 89 bucks after the NSU interview discount. they do have a shuttle which is great. it wasn't running when I got to florida so they paid for my $35 taxi to the hotel from the airport and my $15 taxi to NSU and my $15 back to the hotel the day before the interview (i went to check out NSU the day before the interview). the shuttle was running on interview day so they dropped me off at 8:30 for the interview, then picked me up at 3 with my luggage and dropped me off at the airport. great deal if you ask me and the people were really friendly.

Hampton In - $79 also has those same shuttle services

Hey all,
I live right across the street from the La Quinta Inn (and drive past it every day) and close to all those others, so if anyone that stays there wants a ride the day of or if they want to go see the school the day before...let me know and I'd be happy to answer questions and give a little tour (as long as I don't have a test the next day). 😉

I'm not unpleasant...and it'll save you some cab rides if the shuttles are not running.
