So I've been honored to receive acceptances from both of these awesome schools but I'm having a tough time picking between them. I absolutely loved my interviews at both and I managed to make a pros and cons list for both of them. I was wondering if some people could give some insights or help me out with making this tough choice.

KCU
Pros:
-curriculum supposed to be great for boards
-great rep in the DO world and in the area
-relatively cheap COA and COL
-Dr. Dubin seems like he knows what he's doing
-students seemed fairly collaborative and happy at my interview day
-tons of board prep time

Cons:
-while I've heard the curriculum is great for board prep, I've also heard that its absolutely brutal
-only half the students get to stay in KC for rotations
-midwest weather
-school doesn't really give off that "university" feeling
-almost impossible to participate in research unless one does a research elective

NSU
Pros:
-awesome weather
-beaches and b*tches 😉
-large university with lots of programs so I get that "university" feel
-I'll have longer breaks than KCU
-heard good things about rotations and almost all are in Florida
-actual possibility to conduct research
-my cousin who went to Nova for undergrad has also been accepted to the program here and will also be attending so I'll know somebody

Cons:
-heard bad things about first year
-heard the rural rotation can mess with some people's audition rotations
-expensive(both COL and COA)
-more distractions?
-I've heard summers can get real hot and humid
-not as high board scores as KCU?

I enjoyed both schools immensely at my interview day and could see myself being happy at either one. It would be awesome if people could offer some feedback!

these are both really great schools. If youre looking more for a university feel NSU would be good and NSU has some really awesome clinical rotation sites compared to KCU (we share with 5 other DO schools, across states). Good luck and congrats on the acceptances!

You should be really asking "what do I like more: seafood, or barbecue?"

This is your response for everything haha

He's highlighting the fact that you can do whatever you want at any DO school (minus one) and that one school doesn't have any significant advantage over another, and you should go to the school you like more. (food being a factor)

😉 but I'm sure you knew that, just saying

Yeah I definitely liked the university feel of NSU. And the rotations seem great. However KCU does seem quite a bit cheaper. The total cost of attendance per year for KCU is 73k while for NSU its around 93k. Also KCU's curriculum seems hard to beat. Makes the choice tough

Well going off that I think KCU is better since I don't really eat seafood 😉

Haha yeah I'm aware of that.
