If u guys want to know if ur stats are competitive at NSUCOM here are the stats comparing the last 2 entering classes. Class of 2010 show an upward trend in every category with almost a whole point increase in avg mcat (+.75 overall) Maybe its just me, but I think its a rather drastic increase in just one year. Im assuming this is the case with the other DO schools. The point is that they are getting more competitive!! so apply early!! and get accepted early!!

the new data for admission statistics is out for NSU:

man, i hope you dont have to pay professors to tutor you there at nsu.

Thanks for the info. Just wish we had this for the other schools as well.

Does anyone know if they need all your LORs before reviewing your file? I still need to get one from a liberal arts prof but have had 2 science profs and 1 DO letter sent to them. Will they wait until I can get the one from the liberal arts prof before considering me for/offering me an interview?

I really want an interview there, but as I have posted many times in other threads I am losing hope. They received my app in OCTOBER yet it has still "not been reviewed". After many voicemails, etc, I talked to an admissions person on a Tuesday who said she had no idea why my file wouldn't have been reviewed yet, she would personally look at my file then call me back "today or tomorrow". Well that was in December, and noone has responded to my NEW voicemails talking about this specific situation and how I have not heard back.

It reallllly frustrates me and now even if I GET an interview it will be so late in the game compared to other people who submitted their app wayyy after me and had like 1-2 week turnaround of being reviewed 😡 😡 😡

i got an interview without nova having any of my letters of recommendation. so they still review your application if it's incomplete. when you do interview there, they tell you what your application is missing. however, your application can't go to the committee if it's still incomplete by time they meet. good luck! :luck:

Luckily for me, i got an interview 2 days after i completed the online secondary.i.e. without LOR, no signature page.

It does go to the committee, but they do not render a decision until the DO LOR is received. If you are anxious about getting a verdict ASAP, as most applicants are, it is in your best interest to get the letter submitted before or soon after the interview.

Thanks. I'll send them my payment then and get working on the liberal arts LOR. Good luck to everybody!

I finished the secondary in late summer and I interviewed right before Thanksgiving. But my application wasn't complete for another couple of weeks...they were waiting for the LOR from the DO. But as soon as they got that I got a phone call two days later from them offering me an acceptance. So you can still get in if you're not complete at the time of interview, take it from me. 🙂

Well just to let everyone know:

I have posted before about my frustrating story (above and in other threads). I had mentioned I talked to a lady in December who was supposed to call me back after figuring out why my file had not been reviewed. Well 2 voicemails later, she has returned my call to say this:

She just looked over my file, deems it interview worthy....too bad there are no/very few interview spots left. So they are going to maybe try and "squeeze" me in. This was supposed to happen a month ago, and it is happening today.

So if you are still waiting on an interview....good luck to us all.

hi lisa md- i sent my apps. really late (like 1 week before the deadline) and they told me that the last day of interview is already full. however, they opened up 4 more interview days early april adn sent me an invitation. long story short, i was offered a spot for Class of 2010 but chose to defer a year. keep calling them- i would call and speak with linda ferris; she is very sweet. also, i dont think delia (the admissions counselor) is there anymore- that's prolly why you hadnt heard from them. i think the new counselor's name is rachel. i spoke to her one time and she seems very sweet too.

Is it possible to get into NSUCOM without a D.O letter?

Is it possible to get into NSUCOM without a D.O letter?

i don't think so. i'm not totally positive because i had one anyway for all of my schools. if you can get one, definitely do. check the websites of all the schools you apply to and your answer definitely will be there.

i beg to differ- i was advised as a recommended measure but not mandatory; nevertheless, i had one D.O wrote me a LOR and 2 m.d's.
Perhaps things have changed, but according to the website it is a requirement for admission and Delia Celestine said that the admissions committee will not render a decision until a DO LOR was received. Perhaps things have changed since I interviewed.

My file wasn't considered complete until the DO LOR was received; they even called me to check on the status of the letter. I was under the impression that it was required as well.
