NSUCOM rotations

I have a couple of question about current 3rd and 4th year rotations at NSUCOM. Mainly,

1) Were the rotations picked for you or did you have to spend a lot of time/energy/money trying to find rotations for yourself (for both 3rd and 4th year)

2) How well prepared did you feel after finishing rotations and entering residency?

Thank you for your help in advance i am debating about going to NSUCOM and just want some feedback about their clinical rotations!

You have the option of picking many tracks at NSU at various hospital systems. They each have their own pros and cons.

I went to Broward Health track and felt very prepared for my electives and did well on boards. No regrets on NSU

Can anyone elaborate anymore?

For most of the hospitals that you can rotate thru were they teaching hospitals? Other medical students there as well?

Now teaching hospital may mean different things to both you and me. If you mean a hospital with full time staff affiliated with a medical school ie school hospitalists and departments, then no we do not have one of those. Many hospitals do have various residents working however if thats how teaching hospital is defined. Certain hospitals do have students from other schools (such as Miami, Kirksville, etc.).

Can someone comment on the quality of IM rotation in Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami?
