Hello! I just heard from a friend in PT school that his DPT program accepts close to 150 students for the 70 spots they have open. Does anyone know if most DPT programs accept more people than the spots they have open? It would make sense to accept more because students that get accepted into multiple programs can only choose one. I really hope so because that gives us all a much greater chance of getting into PT school!

I expect it's more like what Kuhdaytee said. A school actually accepting too many applicants would be a disaster if they guessed the count wrong, and I've never heard about that. It's completely likely that a given school offered acceptances to a 170 people over the course of the cycle though as people turned down acceptances and those were offered to people on the waitlist. Most schools let people in off of the waitlist.
