Got an email survey from from NV BOP saying they are considering raising the RPH to tech ratio...

New rules "would increase the pharmaceutical technician (PT) and pharmaceutical technician in training (PTT) to pharmacist ratio in Nevada from the current 3 to 1 ratio to a ratio that allows for more PTs and PTTs per pharmacist"

Since it only counts when they are doing "technician work" ie. any part of production stage (pulling, counting, labeling), I dont see changing the ratio doing anything. All you need is one tech counting and everyone else can be typing and doing the clerical work. It would just cause the RPh to be the bottleneck by increasing the ratio.

Hopefully it doesn't happen. Tech ratio increases need to be firmly opposed.

I work in a state where there is no RPh to tech ratio, several states are like that and I don't believe it's a problem in terms of adequate supervision.

For chains supporting this it's not really about adequate supervision but making it easier to cut RPH staffing to the bone
