NYHQ has a good atmosphere. I wouldn't say it's very cush because the wards are pretty busy. Just come and swing by the ER. Patients are stacked one after another in beds. I've never seen anything like it before in my life. Dr. Reichert is the new PD at NYHQ, and he is very nice and behind the residents. He is really trying to turn the program for the better. I can't comment on Flushing Hospital, as I don't know much about it. As for Northshore, I've actually heard it's cush out there. Manhasset is beautiful. Such a big change from Queens, its neighbor. The program itself is a hidden gem in NY; not many peeps know about it. Do a wiki search and you'll see why Northshore has an excellent reputation in NY. LIJMC is about 5 minutes from Northshore, and comparable in size. However, LIJMC looks a lot older in terms of facilities. I don't know much about the program, but it should be similar to Northshore, since they are doing dual interviews this year for the IM spots.
