Hello,
My friend in the program tells me they suddenly "retired" their excellent program director, Dr. Levy, and brought in someone from SF with <1week notice to the residents.

The residents are shocked but all they are being told is Dr. Levy is moving to private practice after 30+ years as program director at ns-lij.

Has anyone interviewed there yet? What's the mood like there?
Anyone at UCSF knows what happened?

I can tell you I interviewed at LIJ years ago and Levy was a very good interviewer and I've heard some very nice things about him as a PD.

Dr. John Young from UCSF is the new PD. He has a background in politics and research in resident education/systems of care.
The latest on Dr. Levy leaving: he is not sick, or in trouble, but this seems to have been a political maneuver by the administration, which left him and all the residents in various states of shock.
