Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could rate what would be the top 3-5 FP residency programs in NYC or Boston. I'm not from the areas, and although I have checked out scutwork.com, I'm having a hard time picking just a few to apply to. I'm looking for a program with:1. decent learning 2. FP residents are respected and treated decently 3. not impossible to get into (since im only applying to a few, i dont want to end up scrambling)

Thanks,

A program near to New York and Boston in Pawtucket, RI is the Brown/Memorial Hospital Program which is a great program. Medicine training is strong. Pediatrics training and OB training are partially at Memorial and partially at the tertiary care centers in Providence which are both very strong and residents are welcomed whole-heartedly. And the strongest part of the program is the outpatient training at the Family Care Center, which is well run and the diversity of patients is extraordinary. Plus, it is an Ivy League program and the department is treasured at Brown (our chair is very prominent both at Brown and in the Rhode Island community).

The faculty have trained many of the faculty at other programs including BU and Lawrence...

And Providence/Pawtucket are also great places to live with a vibrant arts community, professional sports (the Red Sox Triple A club is a 2 minute walk from the hospital) and affordable housing (many of the residents own their own houses)!

thanks!
