Can any residents or the recently Matched 2014s (congrats!) comment on the reputation of Mt. Sinai vs NYU for emergency medicine training? I'm considering rotating at either Elmhurst or Bellevue, but I've been advised to stick to just Bellevue because it's a more reputable program and a letter from there will have more weight in my application. I've also heard various opinions that Mt. Sinai is a second tier program compared to NYU. Is this actually the case?

Who is giving you this advice? Sounds like someone has a downtown bias against uptown and Queens. Also, Elmhurst is a jewel that goes head to head with Bellevue for volume, diversity, and acuity.

However, as to the first line of your post, I am neither a resident nor a recently matched applicant.

You literally just posted this exact same question yesterday.
