I parachute in since the helicopter can't land on the roof of the building, but people have been walking, biking, or carpooling (you need 4 per car to get into the city during rush hour). Many people who come from NJ or north of the city take transportation that wasn't affected by the strike, so for them it's just business as usual. The people who are pretty screwed are the ones who live in Queens or Brooklyn. Our winter break starts tomorrow, though, so hopefully the strike will be over by then.
