I received the tax form email....Thats about it....I am worried about what happens next........I wish they would tell us!
I received the email also. It told me about the program and requested my parents taxes. Is that the same email you got?

Yes I think we got the same exact email. From last years thread it seems like it took a month to find out if you were accepted through HCOP. So I think we need to wait....Unfortunately.........I really liked the school, I wouldn't mind going through the MedPrep program since it seems from last years thread that most of the students are in the school now

Yea. Same here. I would go in a heartbeat. I actually got a phone call from admissions saying when I faxed over my taxes, the first page was missing. So I faxed it Nd asked when I would find out. They said they are currently reviewing my file. That was on Tuesday. So hopefully we will know soon.
I was in med prep last summer. Everyone in our program was accepted! =)
Unfortunately it is a slow process, and I felt in the dark about most of it while going thru it, but it is a really good program!
You should all be getting the med prep and housing paperwork soon... I first got a med prep application (which freaked me out) but everyone got that and everyone who did get that got accepted into the med prep program. =)
Then came the housing options. They offered us to live in dorms at hofstra if we were from out of state. (which I am) They also gave us a stippened for the summer (which paid for my housing at hofstra) I do wish they had given us info on subletting. I know a few med preppers subletted and I would have much rather done that. It was cheaper and much closer than living in the dorms. Which is why I will hopefully be subletting my room to someone this summer in the med prep program =)
So if any of you have any questions at all thru this whole process or are interested in subletting for the summer just message me and ask away! =) Good luck everyone!

Hi Guys congrats to your admission to nycom!,
I'm currently a first year student- going for training with the navy over the summer and am looking for a med prep student to sublet my room- the apt's 7 minutes away from school- much closer than hofstra dorms, has a full kitchen ,bathroom, and living room for your use- hofstra dorms have no kitchen requiring you to buy food over the summer. There also is ample parking. please email me if your interested or have any questions at [email protected]-The room is also available after the summer for students not participating in med prep.
I also bought new sets of all the required first year books with my Navy stipend after I was commissioned later in the year- please contact me if your interested in buying some at a discounted / bundled price!
BTW Calabash (above) and I are roomates so it would be great to have 2 med prep kids in the apt - they wont be alone over the summer! 🙂

Kool. Thanks for the info. Do you remember how much the stipend was?
my stippened I think was 2 payments of $650 ish?? It covered the Hofstra housing that I had to do and I was grateful for that... But the program has changed a lot I hear so I can't guarentee anything. I have heard that you all are not being offered conditional acceptances (Like I was) but are actually getting accepted and the program is to help you prepare (which you all are soo lucky for!) enjoy it! Its a great program and it definitely prepares you and gives you a leg up!

Oo Kool that's not bad. And yea. In my letter it specifically said we are not conditionally accepted. It's just an enrichment program we basically have to attend. Can't wait to start.
Hi everyone,
I have an interview on April 13th for the med prep program. I wanted some advice on the types of questions that come up on interview day. Ethical, current news questions, etc. And how is the overall experience. Thank you!!! hope fully I get accepted

So if you've been accepted into the HCOP program and are doing the summer med prep program are we completely accepted to start in the fall, or only half way/conditionally accepted. This matter is still fuzzy...😕
You are 100% accepted. All you have to do is show up to the program and participate. Hope that helps.
Thanks workingonit for the info. And SDulku if its been more than 3 weeks since your interview then I suggest you should call just to make sure. My acceptance letter got delayed in the mail and that freaked the hell outta me when I had a due date to let them know so that I could reserve my seat in the class. Good luck!🙂hey everyone...i had interview april 14 and stilm havnt heard abything back yet...did anyone get letter of acceptance this week or is anyone waiting still? i hope i still have chance if getting in

Officially accepted for the fall (it says so in the acceptance letter), it's something new they're doing this year because of the very competitive applicant pool this cycle and thus they accepted great students, from what I've been told.

Hey Guys,
I don't know if you guys received your financial aid apps already but on the Preliminary Application for Financial Aid, in Question #6 I am kind of confused about what to fill in that states:
If eligible, I request NYCOM certify my loans in the amount below. If you leave this area blank, we will not be able to process your loans.
$_____Subsidized Loan $_____Unsubsidized Loan $_____Grad Plus Loan
Comments:
***I am class of 2015, intend to live with family and commute to school, and already have health insurance Medicaid/HMO health plan.
Any help would be much appreciated.

What if in the end, after finishing Medprep, you don't choose to go to NYCOM? Will you still be considered an HCOP?

No because each HCOP grant is school-specific.
