Was wondering if anyone else is a part of the January '19 class at NYCPM? Wanted to know how everyone else was preparing for it. Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Thanks! Are you a student there? I was also wondering if the school cares about how I do for the remainder of the science electives that I'm currently taking. I'm trying to enjoy the last couple of weeks I have off.

Hey I am a Jan student also. BTW have you completed the certified background requirements? All they ask for is immunizations records right?

I am a student at NYCPM. I would focus on your coursework as you did before, I don't believe any school would ignore a significant drop in grades, which is not to say that you cannot have fun! As for certified background, try to complete every item that is listed, and contact the school if you have any questions.

I am preparing by... reading, doing yoga, and not thinking about school ^_^ Maybe I will go and buy some pens later.

In seriousness I am just trying to get some quality rest in before starting school again.

Can anyone who is in the loop give me some info on the new housing situation? I read that the rent for the Bridges is going to be $1,600 minimum, compared to the ~$1,000 it was for the Heritage. Is that figure including all utilities, internet, etc.? I'm just wondering why it's so much more expensive when it's even further into Harlem, compared to Manhattan for the Heritage, which I'm assuming is a nicer area.

Contact the school for information regarding exact rent figures. The figure you stated is too high, and rent is all-inclusive. The new building is much nicer, has a full gym, study rooms, and is exclusive to NYCPM students. I live in the Heritage now (I assure you, it is in East Harlem as well), and I pay $1100, a price that goes up every year.

I believe LGA and JFK are the closest. LGA is extremely easy to get to NYCPM from: just take the M60-SBS bus. There is a stop just outside the school. Getting to the school from JFK involved a train and subway but wasn't too bad!

The subway system caught me off guard at first because you NEED a metrocard to get on. There are machines in certain locations that allow you to buy a one time or one day pass. NYC is fun city to take in! Have a great time and good luck on your interview!

LGA is much closer to school. It's just $2.50 by taking the M60 bus, get off at the madison/park ave stop. You'll be 1 block from the school.

Alternatively you can take a yellow cab which will cost about $25-30 including toll and tip.

I'm getting a sublet for the first few months. I think it will be important to get a feel for where you want to live and how much it costs before signing a year lease. Not to mention a sublet is a lot cheaper.

I'm trying to see as many friends as possible before we get busy with studies. Not sure when I'll get the chance so see everyone again. Also as a side note, I'm really excited to start and kinda nervous as this new chapter opens up.

Has anyone received emails from school recently? I thought we would be getting a bit more info before orientation.

Hi this is an important admissions question; I hope one of you guys can help me here since I couldn't really find the answer anywhere else. I will of course call the admissions office on Monday but maybe one of you can answer! How can I apply for the upcoming January class for Jan 2016? I know the deadline for Fall 2015 was this past June 30th... can I submit my application at any time after that for January consideration or do I have to wait for the new AACPMAS application to come out???
