Anyone receive rejections from these two programs? I've heard notta from them.

I know NYPH has only 2 openings...so I am expecting a rejection soon, probably.

I've met people with UChicago interviews but were not even MudPhuds...so I have no idea what that's all about.

Thanks

Aren't both columbia and cornell called NYPH? Which one are you talking about.

Lastly regarding Univ of Chicago, I have heard some attendings say that soem MD/PhDs make the worst residents as they often care far more about research than they do about path, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I interviewed at U Chicago and I heard one attending there tell me that he and others were often wary of MD/PhDs because too often they used their credentials to get into residency but then didn't want anything to do with research or academic medicine after their acceptance.

So it goes both ways. I think, as always, it comes down to the individual candidate. Why a certain program does or does not grant you an interview is often a mystery.

Sorry for not being clear...I am not an MDPhD. I was under the impression that U of C wanted MudPhuds, but recently met an MD candidate on the interview trail with a U of C interview. He shared credentials with me and they were average at best (just being honest).

NYPH Columbia is the other hospital.

Thanks for your input, though.
