I got rejected from Meharry today as well. and I'm in Chicago and didn't hear anything from NYU..I interviewed there about a month ago. It's very disconcerning seeing people on the west coast hearing back, getting accepted...i'm half that distance and havent gotten anything. Its not like I have any acceptances to fall back on either. Just 2 waitlists so far....I really enjoyed NYU..i'd like to go there now that I know I'm able to afford it:scared:

NYU is a nice school. Dr.Ship(the guy on the cover of the packet that you guys got with your letters) is awesome and is like the director of rsrch @ the bluestone center that is also pretty awesome too----they have lots of great opportunities at the school,etc. The only negatives are the cost, and the fact that you cant live in housing after the first year=apartment in downtown manhattan=$$$ and that after 2nd year youre one of 350+ people. Hrm.

I'm in Virginia and NYU was one of my top choices.. looking forward to Aug '07!

I haven't received the letter yet but I am trying to stay positive!!! I've seen some peeps from the west coast getting one... but I'm crossing my fingers for myself and all of those who are patiently waiting like me.

Hi guys, I just want to say to everyone that just don't lose hope and you guys should not be worry too much because the more you think about it, you are going to be more and more depress. Just stay positive... I received my acceptance letter yesterday and I was very surprised. My stats aren't that great either and my interview didn't go that well either. I thought I was not going to be receive an acceptance letter from this school. I was very surprised when my brother called me up and said that I got in. As for my stats, I did horrible on my DAT except for the science sections and my GPA is 3.6. But I got great letter of recommendations. I live on the West Coast abd my interview was in late November. One thing that I heard from the director was that they are going to accept a majority of applicants before December. So if you were interviewed before December than there is a very good chance that you will get in. As of right now I am not sure that I will accept their offer because NYU is not my first choice. I am still waiting for my other school and I hope that I will get into my number 1 school so that I can give up my spot at NYU to someone else. Well I hope you all the best and stay positive.
 
Got the letter today too! Damn, what a load off. Scared of the price but it is a good kinda scared.
 
Yay! I got my letter today! It's my first acceptance too! 🙂 I was getting really scared, too. Mine was postmarked Dec. 1 and I didn't get it until today in California.
 
I'm really getting anxious here. I know that I have a letter coming because I interviewed in early November and I broke down and called the admissions office, but I just have to wait until the postman brings it because they couldn't state whether or not I was accepted or denied over the phone. Hopefully some good news comes in the mail tomorrow.

I am located 50 or so miles south of Chicago. I was talking with my folks, and apparently mail takes a little longer to get to where we live. It's not completely rural or anything, but it is outside of the major suburbs of Chicago. I really wish they sent emails this year, ha.

Congratulations to those of you that got in. I interviewed on Nov 28th, had a bit of a strange interview, and haven't heard back. I suspect this wasn't a good thing... ah well.
 
Nov 28th was probably after an admissions board meeting. So my guess is that you will hear when the next set of acceptances get sent out. I know a lot of people "look down" on sending thank you notes, but in your case, it might be a good idea to send one with a picture attached to possibly remind them who you are....couldn't hurt.

I interviewed somewhere on the 28th as well and was told I would not hear from them until Jan 18th or 23rd, so keep patient. No news isn't a bad thing for you...IMO.

I interviewed on the 30th and I called NYU .They said they have already sent out a letter for me ..should receive it anyday as it takes time for the letter to get to vancover.

even i had a strange interview...with a PYSCH professor on the 30th ...but when i called nyu,they said they have already sent out a letter. Maybe an early rejection who knows.
 
I just got a Big White Envelope in the mail today...I've been accepted. I'm so relieved that I will be starting D-school in the fall.

Looks like people from Nov 6th are hearing back---I wonder if the quadrant denture kid got in:laugh:
