If I may ask, can someone share with me their interview experience at NYU?

Any essays, applications, group interviews, or surprise questions? If so, what were they about?

Here is the short version:

one on one interview.

why NYU?

Why dentistry?

are you familiar with New York?

Of course, it is just one big conversation. There were not any surprise questions. The interview is first and then the tour, then lunch. My interviewer asked if I had questions? I asked about technology, their miles of smiles mobile dental program, and their specialty programs. NO essays at all. Financial Aid was short and sweet. The tour was great.

Don't sweat it - this interview was very laid back. Besides the questions that s.mutans mentioned, they also ask you what specific qualities you possess that you feel would make you a good dentist, and what your biggest faults are. The interview is NOT a group interview. For my interview, it was just a large group of interviewees sitting in the admissions office, and they split us up by interviewer (one person got Amy Knowles, the other got Dr W.) And they didn't make us fill out any essays - we simply had to fill out an application-type form (provide info such as extracurrics, DAT scores, other schools interviewed at, etc.) Tour was fabulous and the whole day was not long in comparison to other interviews...enjoy!...and (surprise) you probably will 🙂
