hi,

I'm trying to pull my letters together for the upcoming June cycle. So far I have one from a science professor and one from a dentist that I've shadowed. It looks like I need at least one more.

Does anybody know specifically for NYU and Tufts who you need letters from?

NYU's site says, "The applicant is asked to submit letters of recommendation either from a committee on professional recommendations or from at least two teachers, preferably from science department chairpersons, who know the applicant personally."

What counts as a "teacher"? A professor? Professor who you took a class with/research with? etc.

Thanks a lot

Definitely from professors whom you took classes or a research with.

Tufts specifically needs a letter from a dentist you have shadowed with for at least 30 hours (I believe it has to be a general dentist). Their committee letter guidelines are listed on their website.

I do not remember NYU's requirements, I submitted a committee letter and the dentist letter to AADSAS. The science professors I had submit to my committee evaluation were 1 physics, 2 bio, as well as other professors I had good relations with on campus.

No..they just need to be your proff in either a class or supervising research.
