I have been admitted for GW's Global Public Health MPH, NYU's International Community Public Health MPH and BU's as well. I think so far I am planning to attend NYU because the program sounds so amazing but have never been to NY, DC or Boston (I'm from norcal). Any advice or suggestions? Even in terms of quality of life, student body or housing, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm a BU alum, so I can tell you a bit about BUSPH and Boston. I don't know much about the IH program, though.

The medical campus (where SPH is located), is a bit far away from the main BU campus, but a bus connects the two campuses for easy transport. SPH itself is pretty nice as is the med campus, although the surrounding area is not. I lived closer to the main campus and commuted on the shuttle everyday. The area in which the main campus is located is pretty nice. Boston itself as a city is pretty fantastic. I love Boston.

And to let you know what I'm doing: I was just accepted to Yale SPH to do my PhD with a full fellowship and one of my classmates was accepted to UWash SPH for her PhD and also with a full fellowship 🙂 So I can definitely say good things about BU's alums (both of us epi).

hello ppl!! I have received an admit for MPH from Brown and NYU. What should I consider?

Same -- interested in knowing about NYU's MPH program. Got accepted there, Tulane, and GWU so far. Waitlisted at Emory. Waiting on BU and Yale.

Can you elaborate on the surrounding area? Just how sketchy is the area?

What is the length of the commute? Walkable?

Hi Stories, can you tell me where you lived during the first year of your MPH? I'm going to be moving from California and I've heard from several people that the graduate housing close to the Medical Campus is not in a "safe area".

Also, I noticed that you did Epi/EH at BU. How did you manage to do 2 concentrations?
