Its first week of April already. Did anyone call NYU yet about the waiting list update? Please post any information you have. Thanks a lot.

You won't hear a lot actually considering the 2nd deposit is due May 1st. I suspect after that date NYU will focus on the waitlist. G'luck.
i did call them n they said the comm will not look at it till late april or even may 1st........frustating

lol, as a matter of fact, they're now saying until the end of May, so you might be right. Its just crazy how it keeps changing every month. Although the interview cycle is over, they're still trying to interview and capture some exceptional applicants! They'll have to actually use this 200+ waitlist at some point. This is really frustrating, as Harvard, UF, & many other schools are already calling people off their waitlists, while we're going to be waiting in limbo almost close to the summer. Its really rough guys, I understand, but hang in there, I still smell success in the air pretty soon.

They're buried somewhere here, but if you check Harvard waitlist, or ask KingChris, he / she will tell you.

NYU class is now full.
And the waitlist is a damn huge one. This is not good and I dont understand what the point is for them to have such a large waitlist!

WHAT THE.... I doubt that's true because I was recently told the class is not yet full. Where did you hear this? John I asked myself the same question, since NYU seems to be a pretty hot ticket this year, especially following some of these threads. Bear in mind, that most people are also holding multiple deposits, so hopefully even more spots will open up come May!!!

I'm holding a deposit at another school, and waiting for NYU to get back to me. It doesn't seem like that's going to happen anytime soon, so I'm wondering how wise it would be to start looking for housing.
On another note, I haven't called NYU in quite some time. I remember a brief clip from a phone exchange in February, and being told, "About the class being full or not, we can't release such information to you. All I can say is, we're still interviewing."
Not sure how you cajoled a response out of the admissions office, but kudos.

They didnt say it was full per se, but it was pretty clear from what they said to me if you read between the lines. In addition the waiting list is HUGE so this does not help us. Even though some people are holding multiple deposits it still seems like a slim to none chance that they waitlist will move much.

Well all I know is I officially gave up my spot at NYU the other week...so unless that was filled by someone who was given a straight up acceptance...no the class is not full

i just called nyu and asked them when they plan on going over the waitlisters and they said that they can't give out that kind of info? but they gave that info to me the last time i called, and apparently gave that info to others on this forum too...

you called at 5pm est. i really doubt the secretary was in a great mood...you would have better luck calling earlier than closing time.
nyu is a "don't call us, we'll call you" kinda school if yall haven't figured out yet. just sit back and relax. the only thing you can do now is wait.

I think they are going to stretch this out as long as they can, in order to review as many applications as possible. from their end, they won't be losing much. I can see their reasoning. it's far from equitable, but from their end, it behooves them to do so. I wouldn't be surprised if I got a response in July.
However, this is making me rethink whether I would go there if accepted. If they feel so comfortable jerking me around as an applicant, I'm not sure how well they would treat me as a student. I'm just glad I deposited elsewhere for the time being.

A friend of mine received an acceptance 2 years ago on July 25th or so but i cant imagine they purposely held off giving out the wait list acceptances till then.. Its more likely that someone gave up their seat at that time.. good luck to you guys..

Im a Canadian student and have applied to NYU. Does anybody know of what type of chances I have? gpa 3.63 overall and 3.78 sci with completion of an undergrad degree from Biomedical Sci and AA of 19 and PAT 20.
ANY IDEAS!! I didn't get into Canadian schools in Ontario because it is CUT THROAT HARD! I was off by one mark off reading comp.
I also applied to U of Buffalo State, Detroit Mercy and Boston Goldman.
Does anyone know anything for any of these either? I applied late prolly end of Jan and all I know is that my application is being reviewed... thats IT..annoying

The 2nd desposit are for people already accepted to NYU.
It's too bad you applied very late (end of Jan) as the chances of getting an interview at this stage is extremely slim.
You have a good GPA so the best advice would be to 1. retake the cdn DAT such that you can better your chances at a Canadian school OR 2. reapply to the US schools much earlier! (in the next couple of months).
