NYU waitlist question
Started by Taba
The waitlist is constantly moving as people choose other schools. With NYU it helps to be persistent in showing your interest; send a letter of intent and your odds are good. I actually just removed myself from the waitlist, best of luck!had interview last week, and received email today that notified I was being waitlisted. what's the chance and how much longer do I have to wait (it's killing) for the final result. In the mean time, would extra reference letter help? Thanks.
Thank you, what do you think is better? to show up at office and ask Dr.Mejia in person regarding waitlisted question (since I live in NYC) or shoot them an email ?The waitlist is constantly moving as people choose other schools. You could do that. It'll show you're definitely motivated and want to get in. You can also Google her home address and ask her at home. That'll leave a lasting, memorable impression.
Edit: This was a joke. By no means do this googling. Call and email her/him. I think they're too busy for walk-ins, but maybe other people know better. I don't know this person.
Email or call admissions once or twice a month regarding any updates you may have or continued interest (others called, I only emailed). I was out of state, interviewed Feb, waitlisted early March, and accepted July 28th. One of the things Dr. Mejia mentioned when she called me prior to my acceptance was that I hadn't updated them for a month (I gave up around May). Don't show up in person.
Edit: got dates wrong

I'll message youOnce or twice a month seems so often...did you always have updates? I understand updating when fall and spring grades come in, but between April and May what were your updates like?
Can you also give me an idea as what to update please?I'll message you

Can you please please let me know as well? NYU is my top choice and I am waitlisted as well
I was Waitlisted on dec 1st and have been trying to show continued interest via email? What email address is everyone emailing to? I've just been emailing their regular admissions email address but i'm not sure if that's the best one to contact

When you sent the email, did you receive any reply back from them, even it was just a one-line reply?

When did you send your email? Maybe they are extremely busy.
Anyone on this thread still active?
