I was just wondering what are the clinical requirements to grraduate from NUCD. Just total removable units, fixed units, operative procedures (roughly), endo procedures, and OS extractions. Thanks
Currently:
3 RPD
3 CD
Bunch o' operative (like 30 in 3rd year?)
5 endo
1 implant rest
1 FPD
9 crowns (at least one all ceramic)
12 quads srp per year
1 overdenture
PMV (production equal to dollar value of work performed - changing to a point system)
I think that's it. About average I think. Many people go over. I'll be closer to 20 units of fixed when I graduate.
thanks...for the reply...if you are wondering about the requirements at NJDS ill let you know
6 CD
6 RPD
1 more either CD or RPD
16 fixed units
1 3 unit bridge
1 fixed must be all gold and 1 must be all ceramic
8 endo cases (5 anterior and 3 posterior)
Min of 5 perio dx, 13 perio assist, and alot of scrp
48 extraction
60 Operative procedures
Other requreiments for pedo, prevention, radiology, and diagnostic sciences....
There are NO EASY dental schools....these are the bare minimum procedures you need to graduate. Having said that just completing these procedures won't be enough for you to graudate obviously. In addition you have to finish millions of other competencies and meet your PMV (amount of money you need to make around $26,000 per year). Again there are no EASY dental schools so no need to be envious.

Agreed...there is no easy dental school but its apparent that requirements differ from dental school to dental school...some have more requriements some have less all due to many factors (class size, charis available, faculty available). Its clear that NJDS MINIMUM requirements are more than alot of other schools...im not complaining...id rather do 13 dentures and get the experience and be able to border mold in my sleep...lol...and be a better dentist than doing 2 or 3 (not naming any dental school names). Thats how each dental school rolls....Im glad where I am and im sure you are happy at your dental school too....no hard feeling..please..lol 🙂
