Hi there,

I am contemplating whether to take this course in Summer II (all of July) or the Fall semester. Taught by the same professor. MCAT would be taken in January 2015. Would it be better to get through it in the summer and have it done to study for the MCAT during the fall semester?

Or should I take more time with this course and study along with learning the material? I have a very good OChem I basis if that helps

Thanks!

Ochem Ii will be a breeze if you have a good Ochem I basis. Take it in the summer.

Thanks for input, I'm worried about the fast pace...and MCAT coming up I guess. It is down to Physics II and Ochem II for this slot in the summer.

Summer would be better because you will use a lot of ochem 1 so you don't want to forget that stuff over the summer. It also makes the final exam easier because then you don't have to recall stuff from August in December.

In my experience, there's very little orgo II on the mcat, so I think you'd be better off taking that in the summer and physics II in the fall because that is heavily tested on the mcat and you'd be better off being sharp in physics.

Thanks for the input! Any other opinions...anyone taken Ochem II in the summer?

To the OP, just curious how long are your summer sessions?

You say OChem II, I'm just assuming that's the last course you need to take? At my college we had the quarter system (our normal course was about 9 weeks long w/ holidays and what not), so a summer OChem was even shorter (about a month), so most people I tutored avoided it. But, again, if you're in the semester system then you can probably ignore everything I just said. =)

Yes, we're in the semester system and in the summer it is 1 month long!
