Hello! As we all know, time management is essential when taking the DAT. I was wondering if you guys spent a lot of time re-writing reactions out for the Orgo section to eliminate the risk of making a simple mistake in your head.

Thanks!! 😉

For me, yes. However, I didn't spend a lot of time writing. It was just that some questions I thought it would be easier to write out the mechanism (just a few), so I won't be fooled by the answers. But for most of the questions, I bet you can do it in your head. Good news was that the marker was thinner so it was like writing with pen. Smooth.

Nice! Okayy. How did you do with time for the science section? Did you spend more on one section? I guess it varies with each person. Good to hear that the markers write thin!!!

Time-wise, around 20+ min for Bio, around 30 min for GC, less than 20 min for OC. So I had about 20 min to check my answers all the way through. I practiced on Achiever, so I knew I needed most time on GC. For Bio, don't waste your time trying to answer just one question; no answer pops up in your mind, mark, move on. OC should be the easiest section out of the three.

And yes, it varies among people. So distribute your time wisely to maximize your time left on the clock. Good luck on your exam!!
