OAT: BIO Study Help

So when I had my bio classes, I would study just using the notes I recorded and read if I had to..

But now for the OAT i am trying to figure out the best approach... I am debating to write flash cards, but I do not normally study of flashcards - but i am open! Any suggestions on studying for bio?

my plan was to read sections over again and then do a bunch of practice problems.

I think the best way is to get as much exposure to the type of questions as possible. So yea, read it over and over again but don't spend your entire studying time do that. Try to read 30% of the time and do practice questions 70% o the time.

For bio, I studied literally every biology page in the Kaplan blue book. It is an awesome review of all the bio material you have learned over the years. I would write down particular things that I had never heard of before or needed help remembering. Then, I did 5 practice tests for the biology section, so thats 200 practice questions. I ended up scoring a 360 in the bio section. Good luck!

How detailed does the Biology section get? I am reading in the Kaplan book but im not sure if every little detail is worth cramming. For example, all of the steps and enzymes involved in glycolysis, Kreb cycle etc.

It's pretty all over the place or at least that's what it was the first time I took it. Ive been using the Destroyer so far for Biology (500+ questions) and achiever and it's helped me retain the information I feel like i need to know. You can expect something on everything, but some topics more than others. For glycolysis / krebs / photosynthesis just know the products or what goes in and where the cycle takes place .. Don't go too overboard with the meticulous details.

The more exposure to questions you have the better you will probably do.
