  1. Pre-Optometry
Hello all,
I liked reading about peoples OAT experiences before I took mine so I figured I would give back.
Basically I graduated in May and started studying a week after graduation for it. I was extremely nervous because it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life and I felt a bit intimidated by it. I was an exercise science major and did not see myself as overly smart in the sciences. I only had about a 3.1 science GPA for the optometry school prerequisites. I studied until my test on November 7th ranging from 2-5 hours per day with some days off here and there. I used Chad's videos (mostly) as well as the Kaplan book, and the OAT destroyer. I really only used Kaplan for the biology and I used the OAT destroyer a decent amount but it really made me feel crappy about my abilities. I did not feel as ready as I wanted to before I took the test and I thought I was going to do TERRIBLE on reading comprehension as I did on all the practice tests (270,280). I didn't even study reading comprehension at all. I took the Kaplan practice test and got a 330 TS and ADA and got a 330 TS as well. I still did not feel confident. The test itself wasn't actually as mentally demanding as I thought it would be it was a lot less calculations then I thought and more just either you know it or you don't.
After my test I was VERY happy with my scores. My actual scores were
330 TS
320 AA
320 Biology
350 General Chemistry
320 Organic Chemistry
330 Reading Comprehension
320 Physics

If you prepare yourself enough you will do just fine!
Also, I am selling my OAT materials (Kaplan. OAT Destroyer both books) If anyone is interested let me know and good luck!

I got interviews at suny nova p c o s c o Rosenberg and I only went on suny s c o and nova. I got accepted to nova and I'm on hold at suny and s c o should be telling me tomorrow or thursday but I am not going on my other interviews

Hello everyone,
I am currently studying for the OAT and I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I have been recently going over the physics and chem sections and cannot help but feel like there are a million and one equations I need to know. I want to ask anyone out there that have recently taken the OAT if they could offer some advice on how to study or memorize these equations? Do the problems on the actual OAT give you the equations or have some kind of hint?
