I recently decided to attempt to go to optometry school, and I obviously need to take the OAT. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how often the tests are given and how far in advance I would have to register to take the exam. I am going into my senior year as an undergrad so it is definitely crunch time if I want to try to get in for the fall 2011. Thanks in advance!

Depends on the city. I booked mine several months in advance, but you don't have to do that. I could have chosen a day within the next 2 weeks.

in San Diego they run it almost every single day, several times a day.

I would recommend just paying/registering for the test now. You don't have to commit to your test date right away, but you'll get to see what is available.
