OAT memorizing constants???

Hey guys,

I was wondering if we had to memorize all the constants we need to use in formulas.( like ke for Coulombs Law, etc) I know we have to memorize the formulas, as I saw on previous threads but wasn't able to find anything about this. :S Any help would be much appreciated! thanks 😀

what about conversions? I know in physics there are lot of unit conversions. Are we expected to know how many J in an eV?

I'd hope you'd be given most constants you'd need (e.g., e, k, G), though some should just be second nature (e.g., g).

I believe if it is for chem, then yes..

Since E&M is covered i would imagine you need coulombs law. But try to understand these "formulas" more than just taking them as formulas and memorizing.

By doing so for example....knowing something as simple as Coulombs law, immediately tells you the formula for an Electric Field and the Voltage, just by understanding the meaning.

and comon.....Conservations are so useful, learn how to use dimensional analysis. you cannot go wrong.

If you know the charge of an electron (which is probably a given constant) then converting J to eV is a no brainier....

considering that 1eV = (charge of an electron) in J
