I just have a quick question about the OAT - I know formulas arent given for physics..but what about the constants..like planck's constant etc..are they provided or should I be memorizing?

Thanks in advance!

Memorize what you can... I'm due to take my exam soon, but from what I've been told (through Kaplan), certain things you need to memorize...liiiiike Planck's constant, the ideal gas constant, the mass/charge of an electron, or the values of common trig functions. These are things that they believe should be ingrained in our heads, I suppose. The more obscure constants, like the specific heat of water, will more than likely be provided. I suggest just using your discretion and common sense. If you're in a time crunch, I would definitely spend more time making sure I understand concepts that will certainly be tested rather than simply memorizing constants that may or may not be given.

If you look at the opted.org practice exam, in the physics section, there are formulas at the top. Those are the ones that will be given to you on the actual test...And some of the other formulas will be given with the specific question if they think you will need it...

From someone that took the test, you absolutely DO NOT need to memorize any constants. They will be given to you if needed. You might want to know some extremely simple ones like the density of water, acceleration due to gravity, etc.

Whoaaa! Those as$holes lied to me then!! Good to know 🙂
